Coronavirus India News Live Updates: For the first time in the last five days, India has reported less than 4 lakh new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. According to the data by the Union Health Ministry, 3,66,161 new cases were registered, the lowest in six days, taking the total tally to 2,26,62,575. The active cases rose by 8,589, the lowest rise in the last two months. The total number of active cases is 37,45,237, the data updated at 8 am showed. Recoveries remain above 3 lakh for the ninth straight day and 3,53,818 people were discharged in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate rose to 82.39 percent. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease is 1,86,71,222, the data stated.

As the number of COVID19 cases continue to rise in the state, government doctors on Monday said the Kerala health sector was facing serious shortage of human resources to fight the pandemic and urged the government to immediately recruit more health workers and call back retirees to overcome the situation. The Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) also asked the Kerala government to take immediate steps to vaccinate people, aged between 18 and 45 years, at the earliest after identifying the priority categories.

Indian Navy brings large amount of medical supplies from abroad

COVID vaccination of people aged 18-44 years begins in Uttarakhand
Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat formally launched the COVID-19 vaccination drive for people aged 18-44 years here on Monday and said Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to make the exercise free of cost. Launching the drive at the Radha Swami Satsang complex on the Haridwar bypass road, Rawat said the third phase of the vaccination drive has begun under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
