NEW DELHI: Over the years Apple Watch has become a useful device for monitoring health and fitness. Apple already offers important features like ECG and SpO2 monitoring in its smartwatch. Now, the company is working on adding another important and useful health monitoring feature in its upcoming smartwatch.

Many rumours have suggested that Apple is planning to incorporate glucose monitoring in Apple Watch 7. However, now the company has itself hinted that the feature might come in the upcoming smartwatch. As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple has mentioned the feature in one of its regular surveys.

The report revealed that the survey asks users about any apps that they have installed to track their eating habits, medications and blood glucose levels. This indicates that the company is thinking of introducing blood glucose monitoring systems in the smartwatch.

Apart from this, the other questions asked in the survey focused on health features built into the Apple Watch.

It has been reported in the past that Apple may have been working on a non-invasive glucometer for its Watch. The Apple Watch over the years has been introducing one big feature every year. Blood glucose level monitoring is a feature that is high on anticipation as the number of people suffering from diabetes across the world have been increasing only.

On the other hand, Apple rival Samsung is also thinking of introducing a similar kind of feature in the Galaxy Watch 4. Earlier this year it was reported that just like Apple, Samsung is also working on bringing the glucose monitoring feature in its smartwatches.

This new feature from Apple and Samsung won’t require any blood or strip for the glucometer.
