Thread: Does anyone else wish Internet dating was never invented?

I wish OP was never invented. Well, we can be sure he wasn't intended.

I’d probably still be a virgin without it, so no. All but one of the women I’ve smashed I’ve met on Tinder/POF.

The apps themselves have gotten worse though. POF used to be great about 10 years ago. Tinder is getting worse every year. I used to have hundreds of matches and everyday would match with 7/8 new girls. Now I’ll get 15-20 likes/matches with a new account, then like 1 a week after that.

But even as a 6/10 UK brah I’m still getting sex/dates from them. Even with girls I’d consider to be on my level.

Internet dating is fine... where you have an actual website where you have to pay a minimal amount per contact. It's the apps that enable non stop contacting. I met 4 girl online that I dated for about 15 years total, it was great. I've internet dated since the days of MIRC, and I can tell you, it's since smartphones were invented that it's rooted everything up.

The solution is: make each contact a microtransaction mandatory, and you have to actually type a customized message for each one, that can't be a copy and paste.

As frustrating as it is online dating let meet dozens of women. It allowed me to have sex with women in every country I lived long term in. And it got me a relationship with a Dentist and previously a Midwife nurse. Neither of the women worked out there and I admittedly still had a travel itch. I don't feel a desire to get married unless the woman is a land owner in a tropical country (been looking for one in the Philippines like that).


But it's getting to the point where the sex isn't very fulfilling unless she's 18-25 and has a hot body.


Maybe I'm OldCel but the apps get progressively worse over time. I noticed a huge drop once coronavirus started. Now I somehow only match with 30+ year old women and it seems tricky to convince to meet in RL but I have done that though.


I feel like from a male perspective online dating apps shouldn't be this hard. Especially with my attributes of being taller than the avg male (even in tall countries like Netherlands / Sweden), being educated, financially independent, etc. Of course maybe I'm shadowbanned this entire time?


Literally it's night and day if you're female. I made catfish profiles of my ugly female friends and acquittances (photos I took so it can't be reverse Google Searched) and they would all get 100+ matches within minutes of signing up, wtf.

are you actually 38 though? late 30s is a weird sport for a lot of men depending on how youve aged, some still look youngish, some already look like a middle age dad.

you cant expect to still be pulling hot young hbbs looking like that, will only get worse when you get into your 40s

I'm able to rack up new Filipina penpals with minimum effort. Girls under 23. But I think the age gap there doesn't take effect until 50.

TBH I was supposed to do a 120 day trip in Ukraine / Belarus in 2020 before coronavirus took off. That was going to be my last hurrah to see if I can get young HBBs or something (maybe stretch it to a good aged 28) and then at the end convince them to emigrate (travel with me) or possibly me marry them and move there.

Yeah I know Ukraine is "open" during Covid but as per my other post I think everywhere dating declined due to Covid. So going there now isn't the same as pre-pandemic. And I have a suspicion dating won't magically recover in winter just because there's a vaccine passport system.

What I remember was you had a lot of women in bars back then. It's almost as if women were faking enjoying alcohol / bars just so they could hookup with guys. Thing is a sl00t was limited to whatever guy showed up not every Chad within a 20 kilometer radius..
