Amritsar: The Gharinda police have booked three persons for allegedly grabbing the property of Inderpreet Singh Chadha, who had committed suicide in January 2018. Surjit Singh, who was booked by the police for the fraud, was also a prime accused in Inderpreet's suicide case. Among others who were booked in the case included Tejinder Singh and Harpreet Singh, all residents of Amritsar. No arrest has been made till now and further investigations are under progress. According to the police, Inderpreet's son Prabhpreet complained in May 2019 stating that in 2017, his father, along with his partners had procured over 24 kanal of land in the name of CC developers in Gharinda area. Inderpreet Singh had 50 per cent of share while Surjit Singh had 40 per cent share and Anil Kumar had 10 per cent share. The police said as per the complaint, without taking Inderpreet Singh into confidence Surjit Singh transferred the land in the name of Gobind Associates and M/S Rajan Enterprises. A year after the alleged suicide of Inderpreet Chadha in January 2018, his family members, including his father Charanjit Singh Chadha alleged that the accused were trying to fraudulently grab his property.
