MGR statue desecrated in Trichy

TRICHY: The statue of late Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran (MGR) was found desecrated at Marakkadai in Trichy on Sunday morning sparking protests by AIADMK cadre.
The right arm of the statue was broken. The broken piece of statue was found at the spot.
AIADMK cadre, led by former minister Vellamandi N Natarajan, staged a protest near the statue demanding the arrest of the miscreants who desecrated the statue.
They lodged a complaint with the Gandhi Market police who assured to take action. The police were checking CCTV footages.
