A rescue operation is under way to help a whale that has become stranded in the River Thames in south-west London.

A crowd of about 100 people gathered to watch, as the RNLI attempted to capture and move the whale, which is stuck at Richmond lock.

Reporter Gareth Furby said on Sunday evening there were four marine divers in the water with the whale.

Twitter users have posted pictures and videos and the rescue is ongoing.
