MUMBAI: On the first day of the vaccination drive which was started at Worli's National Sports Club of India (NSCI) parking lot for senior citizens on Sunday, 150 people were administered the jab. Civic officials said that while the NSCI parking lot is able to accommodate more number of vehicles but only half of the same space is being put to use as the other half is kept vacant to ask beneficiaries who have been administered the vaccine to wait under observation for half an hour in case of any adverse event following immunization (AEFI). "All the doses available to the centre were administered," said Sharad Ughade, assistant municipal commissioner BMC G south ward. The vaccination drives in Mumbai are being started especially for the benefit of immobile senior citizens and specially-abled citizens. The first such drive in facility was started at Dadar in a civic parking lot last week. On Sunday, the BMC's twitter handle shared a picture of two nonagenarian stating, "Young At Heart & Vaccinated. Mr. Ratan Mir, 99 & Mrs. Nalini, 98 year 'young' Mumbaikars took their #JabToBeatCorona at @mybmcwardGN Kohinoor Parking Vaccination center today." The Dadar parking lot also gave out roses to mothers who visited the vaccination facility on the occasion of 'Mother's Day'.
