Man gets bail in minor’s rape, abduction case

THANE: The Thane sessions court granted bail to a man who was accused of abducting and raping a minor girl. The additional sessions court judge K D Shirbhat granted bail to the accused in its recent order.
The accused told the court that he is innocent and all the allegations are baseless. The accused also stated that they were married and he did things with her consent.
However, the prosecution and the investigating officer opposed the bail plea. After hearing both sides, the judge, in his order, stated, “Considering that the investigation is completed and a chargesheet is filed and also that there is a huge pendency of the cases in the court, the trail will take its own time. No purpose will be served by keeping the accused behind bar.”
