New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said that the capital received only 487 MT of oxygen gas on Friday, much less than the Supreme Court's direction of supplying 700 MT daily.
"Delhi has received only 487MT oxygen yesterday. In today's scenario, we need approximately 700MT to manage proper supply for all hospitals," the Deputy CM said in a press conference.
He requested the Centre not to compromise the Oxygen supply as per the current demand of 700 MT.
"On May 5, Delhi, for the first time received 730 tonnes of Oxygen. The supply dipped to 577 MT on May 6 and further 487 MT on May 7. Until the situation is controlled, we request the government to ensure the supply of 700 MT of Oxygen," Mr Sisodia said.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court directed the Centre to ensure the supply of 700 metric tonnes of oxygen to the National Capital daily to tide over the major oxygen crisis.
