Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) Telangana's cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 4,92,385 with 5186 new confirmed infection cases recorded till Saturday evening.
After 38 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll risen to 2704, translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to a State Health Department bulletin here this evening.
As many as 7994 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide as of Saturday to take the overall number of recoveries to 4,21,219 constituting a recovery rate of 85.54 per cent while the national recovery rate was 81.9 per cent.
The active cases in the state currently stand at 68,462 ,the bulletin added.
In all, 69,148 samples were tested on Saturday to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2374 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, over 1.35 crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.
