At least ten labourers are feared to have died in a blast at a limestone quarry in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa on Saturday morning. The incident took place at Mamillapalle village of Kalasapadu block.
At least 40 workers were present at the time of the incident.
Relief and rescue operations for the others trapped under the debris have been launched.
Meanwhile, chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed shock over the death of the labourers in the blast and inquired about the possible reasons behind the accident with the officials.
He has ordered an inquiry into the matter and also conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of the blast victims.
