Delta Apparel, a US-based provider of activewear and lifestyle apparel products, has reported 12 per cent sales growth to $108.6 million in its second quarter (Q2) FY21 ended on April 3, 2021, compared to the sales of $96.6 million in the same period previous fiscal. The company’s net income for the quarter rose to $4.4 million (Q2 FY20: $1.3 million).
“In every aspect, our March quarter results showcase the positive trajectory of the company. With double-digit sales growth and significant profitability expansion in both business segments, we have proven the benefits of our broad customer base and diversified channels of distribution,” Robert Humphreys, chairman and chief executive officer at Delta Apparel, said in a press release.
Gross profit during Q2 FY21 increased to $24.8 million ($20.6 million), and selling, general and administrative expenses were $17.0 million ($17.8 million). Operating income for the quarter improved to $7.5 million ($3.5 million).
“Our innovative technology in the on-demand, digital print market is transforming the retail and e-commerce supply chain for decorated apparel. Through our new, exclusive partnership with Autoscale.ai, DTG2Go will provide automated solutions for design creation, art and licensing management, and marketing spend, along with seamless connectivity with various online marketplaces, further solidifying our leadership position in this market segment,” Humphreys said.
“Supported by our vertically-integrated, flexible manufacturing platform, broad distribution and fulfilment network, and strong business systems with unique proprietary technology, we believe we are well-positioned to continue to deliver compelling top and bottom line results for our shareholders,” Humphreys concluded in the release.
