UoH announces early summer holiday amid increase in COVID-19 incidents

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad on Friday announced the summer holidays for students and faculties from 10 May to 8 June in light of the rise of COVID-19 cases across the country.

The decision to promote the summer holidays was taken after a review meeting with the deans and principals convened by the Vice-Chancellor on Friday.

Students have been instructed to return to the safety of their homes, a statement said.

‘Given the current situation, we want the maximum number of students to return to the safety of their homes. Since the pandemic took place, non-teaching staff have been working incessantly and with the increasing numbers, they also need a break. We are also concerned about the increasing number of cases, both in the case of staff and their family members, “UoH Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao Podile said in a statement.
