The party in a press release informed that parliamentary board of the party have deputed both the leaders as Central observer for the legislature party meeting which be held in Guwahati on Sunday.

BJP is caught in catch 22 situation in Assam over the choice of next chief minister.

The party in a press release informed that parliamentary board of the party have deputed both the leaders as Central observer for the legislature party meeting which be held in Guwahati on Sunday.

There is still uncertainty as to who will be Assam's next Chief minister and has refrained from naming anyone during polls. The party has claimed that the issue will be decided by the party's parliamentary board.

While Sarbananda Sonowal has been chief minister from 2016,Assam finance minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma has emerged as a strong contender for the chief minister’s post.
