BCCI scorer K.K. Tiwari passes away; cricket organiser Pramod Sood passes away

BCCI scorer K.K. Tiwari passes away- BCCI scorer Krishan Kumar Tiwari passed away due to Covid at the AIIMS in Jhajhar (Haryana) on Saturday. He was 52.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. Last fortnight, after Tiwari complained of uneasiness, he was briefly admitted to Hedgewar Hospital, where he tested positive for Covid.

Later, following the intervention of DDCA president Rohan Jaitley, Tiwari was moved to Jhajhar since no bed was available in the Capital. He was a part of the DDCA’s four-member Umpire and Scoring Committee.

BCCI scorer K.K. Tiwari passes away-A well-known name in Capital’s cricket circles for over three decades, Tiwari covered four Tests, five One-Day Internationals, over 60 Ranji Trophy matches and over 50 Indian Premier League fixtures. He also officiated as an umpire in local cricket since 1985.

Cricket organiser Pramod Sood passes away

Well-known cricket organiser Pramod Sood passed away following a heart attack while undergoing treatment for Covid at a hospital in Dwarka on Friday. He was 62.

Survived by his wife and two sons, Pramod was the man behind the organisation of the prestigious Om Nath Sood cricket tournament in the Capital for over three decades. The 31st edition of the

the tournament was suspended last month due to curfew and partial lockdown following a sharp spike in Covid cases.

Associated with Rani Bagh Club for years, Pramod was known for his passion for the game he once played. From Manoj Prabhakar to Nitish Rana, several Delhi Ranji Trophy captains and players, first-class and IPL cricketers from different states played in the Om Nath Sood tournament, an event he organised in the memory of his father.

Several players and officials expressed their condolences on the sudden demise of Pramod, who will be remembered for his soft-spoken and genial ways.
