Rijiju congratulates rowers Arjun, Arvind on sealing the Tokyo Olympics

New Delhi: The Union’s Minister for Youth and Sport, Kiren Rijiju, congratulated the Indian duo of Arjun Jat and Arvind Singh on sealing a berth in the rowing series for men in the doubles for the Tokyo Olympics which later will be held this year.

Arjun and Arvind qualified for the four-year event after finishing second at the Asia Oceania Continental Regatta event.

The Minister of Sport on Friday praised the duo’s performance in the spectacle event.
Rijiju wrote on Twitter: “I congratulate Indian duo Naib Subedar Arjun Jat and Naib Subedar Arvind Singh who qualified for the men’s lightweight doubles event at the Tokyo Olympics after finishing second in the Asia Oceania Continental Regatta Event. “

Earlier, four Indian sailors qualified for the Tokyo Games through the Mussanah Open Championships in Oman. It will also be the first time India has been represented in three sailing events during the Olympics, as reported by Olympics.com.

The IOC and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) work with the NOCs and the National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) to encourage and assist their athletes, officials and stakeholders in the Games living in their territories according to their national vaccination guidelines. , before going to Japan.

According to the organizers, based on the feedback from the NOCs and NPCs, a significant portion of the Games participants are expected to be vaccinated before arriving in Japan. The new MoU contributes to these efforts.
