Try https://snapdrop.net/ Nothing to install. Browser based(Chrome / Firefox). Open Source. It works fine as long as both devices are on the same network

Zapya is good for sharing data from your smartphone. You can use it for free.

Instead of using 3rd party apps, I prefer using inbuilt 'Nearby Share' option. You can find its icon in the drop down menu/quick panel.
