So in this article, we at Inside Sport will take you through five players who could make comeback in IPL 2021’s second phase.

Shreyas Iyer

Delhi Capitals named Risabh Pant as their captain as Shreyas Iyer injured his shoulder during India vs England series. Iyer was ruled out for five months after the injury. But now as IPL’s second phase is likely to take place in September Iyer can make a comeback in the DC squad. However, this will put DC team mangement in big trouble of taking a call on Pant’s captaincy as he is doing just fine as a captain. DC is ranked number 1 in the points table.

Ben Stokes

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ben Stokes was ruled out of the IPL 2021 with a broken finger. The England cricketer sustained the injury during the Royals’ opening match against Punjab Kings when taking a catch to dismiss Chris Gayle. The franchise confirmed Stokes’ injury through a statement. However, now Ben can make a comeback in the RR squad in the second phase. This will boost RR’s confidence.

Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer is the biggest name in the list, RR’s premier bowler and last year’s most valuable player in IPL Jofra Archer had to leave IPL because of multiple injuries on his right hand. Archer has been suffering from pain in his right elbow for quite some time now. If Archer makes a comeback RR will fancy their chances of qualifying.

T Natarajan

Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer T Natarajan had injured his knee first during India’s tour of Australia at the turn of the year, and subsequently missed games at home against England too. He played the first two games of IPL 2021 for the SRH but was then ruled out. If he makes a comeback then bottom rank Hyderabad can think of bounce back as well.

Rinku Singh

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rinku Singh was ruled out for the entire season of IPL 2021 due to a knee injury. The 23-year-old Rinku Singh, who represents Uttar Pradesh (UP) in domestic cricket, played only one match for KKR in IPL 2020. The left-hand batsman scored 11 runs in that match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, KKR desperately needs an Indian middle-order batsman and Rinku can be that option.
