Sonebhadra, May 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh's Sonebhadra district has achieve self sufficiency in oxygen production, UP Primary Education Minister and district in-charge Dr Satish Dwivedi announced here on Saturday.
The district became self-reliant after a closed oxygen plant at Anpara was repaired and made operational.
Dr Dwivedi congratulated all the public representatives, administrative officers and technical personnel of the for starting the closed oxygen plant at the earliest and making the district self-sufficient in oxygen production.
Now, around 300 to 350 oxygen cylinders are being filled daily in the oxygen plant in Anpara.
Sonebhadra can provide oxygen to its neighbouring district also when required, he added.
Apart from this, oxygen supply to 38 beds in the district hospital is supplied through other means.
Dr Dwivedi informed that a Sector Magistrate has been appointed for hospitals of Sonebhadra so that Covid patients do not face any problem in getting admitted and treated in the hospitals.
Besides, more than 1500 teams of ASHA and Anganwadi workers are reaching out to people by running door-to-door campaigns in the district to make people aware about Covid and check the spread of the contagion.
