Saharanpur, May 8 (UNI) Dalit leader and founder of newly floated party Azad Samaj Party Kanshi Ram Chandrashekhar Azad on Saturday stated that the President and the Supreme Court should intervene in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and call the Army to handle the situation.
"The government has totally failed in controlling the situation. The President and the Supreme Court should take cognizance and call the Army to protect the lives of 130 million Indians," he demanded.
Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led NDA government in the Centre, Mr Azad said that in order to win elections in five states, especially in Bengal, Mr Modi and his government left 130 crore people at their mercy.
"Experts from WHO, Europe, US, Africa and even from India were constantly warning that the second wave of COVID-19 would take a dangerous form and bring great destruction, but the Modi government did not make any preparations and the entire Cabinet was engaged in Bengal elections," Mr Azad said in a statement.
"The Prime Minister addressed four dozen rallies, the Home Minister Amit Shah attended 12 dozen rallies, the BJP organised 6,000 rallies and RSS conducted 600 workshops. The Election Commission like the CBI, worked as the puppet of the central government and conducted elections in eight phases forcibly," he alleged."But even after that, the people of Bengal rejected the BJP and it's politics of hatred and it could not win the elections in Bengal," the youth leader alleged.
Mr Azad claimed that Modi's popularity has deteriorated and the BJP will lose the elections in 2024 while Mr Modi will fail to retain his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.
Attacking Azad Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who had addressed rallies in Bengal, Mr Azad said, "I want to ask Yogi, what is the the situation in Uttar Pradesh, which has a population of 27 crores?People are dying without treatment outside the hospital, scenes of cremation ghats and cemeteries are heartbreaking. If the right figure of deaths is revealed to the people, a lot of people will die of fear. The Government has no intention of even fixing the treatment charges of private hospitals."
Mr Azad said that the third wave of Corona is yet to come, the country cannot be left dependent on the Modi government.
