THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A national non-governmental organizations’ (NGOs) confederation through the association of 100 NGOs has been set up with an aim to address various issues being faced by poor and old age homes in the state. The confederation has been set up with the initiative of Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust, functioning in the capital. The confederation has been formed with former high court judge C N Ramachandran Nair as the advisory chairman. The issues, including natural disasters occurring in the state, have been affecting the functioning of the poor and old age homes. But the problems faced by those homes are not taken up with the government properly, chairman of the confederation K N Anandakumar said. He said that the first task of the federation would be to ensure vaccines to the inmates of all the poor and destitute homes across the state.
