Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that Delhi government could create 9,500 more oxygen-equipped hospital beds provided the central government ensured sufficient oxygen supply. He also said that Delhi, for the first time, received 730 metric tonnes of oxygen on Wednesday and would require such a volume every day until the current Covid-19 wave subsided. Traders in Delhi want lockdown till May 17
Continuing their stand on the lockdown in the capital, some traders’ associations wrote to lieutenant governor Anil Baijal and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday suggesting an extension till May 17. During a meeting called by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a few traders associations also decided to go for a voluntary lockdown for the next week. Delhi makes 14-day institutional quarantine compulsory for those arriving from Andhra, Telangana
All persons arriving from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states in Delhi by airlines, trains, buses, or any other mode of transportation shall have to undergo mandatory Government institutional quarantine for 14 days at facilities established/ identified by the concerned DM, said DDMA.

Delhi hospitals breathe easier, but erratic supply still a headache
Finally, after a fortnight of living desperately, Delhi’s hospitals breathed just a wee bit easily on Thursday, though most of the medical centres still felt the oxygen situation remained unpredictable. “We can’t say the crisis is over,” said Dr P K Bhardwaj, chief executive director and head of surgery, Saroj Hospital. “The uncertainty about supplies and reduced quotas are matters of concern.
