The Bengal government has decided to give interest-free festival advance of Rs 12,000 to employees whose monthly revised emoluments are within Rs 45,000 a month.
KOLKATA: The Bengal government has decided to give interest-free festival advance of Rs 12,000 to employees whose monthly revised emoluments are within Rs 45,000 a month.
The advance will be recovered from their salary in not more than 10 monthly instalments. The recovery is to be completed by August 2022.
All employees retiring after November 2021 will be entitled to get the salary advance. This will also be available to teachers of aided schools and staff of urban local bodies and panchayats.
Normally, the state government issues salary advance on the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr and also before Pujas. Muslim employees get the advance before their festival and for other employees, it is paid between September 21 and October 5 if they apply for the same, the finance department notification said.
