Three drug peddlers arrested in Budgam, contraband recovered

Srinagar, May 7 (UNI) Police on Friday arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband from them in central Kashmir district of Budgam, a police spokesman said.
He said on a tip off, a police party arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance in Budgam.
He said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established at Wadwan Chowk in Budgam.
''Police intercepted a vehicle at the checkpoint and during checking recovered 190 grams of charas like substance and 345 tablets of controlled medicine Anxit,'' he said.

He said the accused, identified as Javiad Ahmed Beigh and Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh, were immediately taken into custody.
''A case FIR number 116/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up,'' he added.
