Cases continue to rise, but hospitalisation down in Vadodara

Vadodara: While the number of new Covid-19 cases at other major cities of the state may have started showing a decline, that’s not been the case with Vadodara city and district. The number of new cases reported in Vadodara continues to breach previous highs. Total 947 citizens tested positive for the virus in Vadodara on Thursday.
The day saw 10,181 testing being conducted in Vadodara city and district. Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) officials informed that 12 patients succumbed to the virus taking the district’s Covid death toll to 424.
On Thursday, 745 persons were discharged from various hospitals and home isolation. This left 9,190 live cases in the city and district including 366 on ventilators or BiPAP machines and 587 on oxygen support.
There was a marginal drop in hospitalisation as 10,820 patients were admitted in the city on Thursday evening against 10,870 persons on the previous day. The availability of ventilator beds and ICU beds had also improved slightly.
