Creativeland Asia founder picks up 40% in Revenant Esports

Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and chairman of Mumbai-headquartered independent communications agency Creativeland Asia, has acquired a 40% stake in Revenant Esports for close to $1 million (Rs 7.4 crore).

Launched during the lockdown last year, Revenant Esports is home to more than 25 esport titles including ‘Call of Duty Mobile: Multiplayer’, ‘Call of Duty Mobile: Battle Royale’, ‘PUBGM’ (Before the ban), ‘Clash of Clans’ and ‘FreeFire’.

Revenant Esports plans to utilise the funds to expand its reach and promote co-creation of content.

“With the esports sector becoming one the fastest growing industries globally, we are confident of growing Revenant 10x in the next two years,” said Kurup, who is also the creative chairman of Creativeland Asia.

Founded by Rohit Naresh Jagasia, Revenant Esports claims to have almost 15,000 active gamers engaged on its platforms and generated 20,000 hours of watch time in the last two months.

“I have seen the esports Industry grown exponentially in the past few years. We aim to be the heart of the Indian gaming industry and grow aggressively in competitive esports, virtual and offline events and content,” Jagasia said.
