For India, the past few weeks have been incredibly difficult. The second wave of COVID-19 has impacted thousands of citizens across the country, and public personalities all over the globe are now extending their hands to help the nation overcome the devastating effects of coronavirus. Last week, we saw the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Sonu Sood, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Hrithik Roshan, and Lilly Singh speak up and donate to different causes, and today, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have also shared some positive news. The duo took to Instagram this morning to reveal details about 'In This Together', a campaign in partnership with crowd funding platform Ketto that will aim to raise funds for victims of the pandemic. "We shall all overcome this crisis together. Please step forward to support India and Indians. Your contribution will help in saving lives during this critical time," Sharma's post read.
May 1 also marked new mom Anushka Sharma's 33rd birthday, and the star chose the occasion to tell her followers that she was currently working on something related to COVID relief. “In the midst of all this pain and suffering, it just did not feel right for me to celebrate my birthday. But I've seen your messages to me, and now, I have an important message for you. I would like to appeal to everyone to unite and support our country in this hour of crisis,” Sharma revealed last week. “Virat and I are coming together to do our bit. We will share details soon so that you can also become part of this movement. Remember, we are all in this together.”
Along with Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, other celebrities who are also using their platforms to help India fight coronavirus include Bhumi Pendekar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Katy Perry, Will Smith, Orlando Bloom and Mindy Kaling.
