BJP Mandals stage sit-in protests across many places

Denouncing the alleged atrocities on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in West Bengal by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers post declaration of the West Bengal Assembly Elections results, Mandals of BJP Manipur Pradesh staged sit-in protests at Wangkhem, Heirok, Chandel and Tengnoupal DHQs today.
BJP Heirok Mandal staged a sit-in at Heirok Part II, Thokchom Leikai community hall, where Heirok AC MLA, Dr Thokchom Radheshyam stated that there is no place for violence in a democratic country and condemned the attacked on BJP workers and supporters in the aftermath of West Bengal election.
The sit-in was organised following the announcement made by BJP Central Committee to stage a nationwide dharna against the alleged post-election violence by TMC workers in West Bengal.
The MLA expressed his anguish over the atrocities committed by the TMC workers and stated that the unfortunate incident has brought shame to the country that takes pride in being the largest democracy in the world.
BJP Manipur Pradesh, state secretary Kh Basanta raised question against the eligibility of Mamata Banerjee in taking oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal after losing the election in Nandigram.
The protest was also attended by BJP Heirok Mandal president, Thokchom Chourjit; Heirok Zilla Parishad member, T Nungshi Singh; general secretary, N Brojen; BJP Thoubal District general secretary, N Opendro and workers of BJP.
Another protest was staged at Charangpat Maning Leikai by BJP Wangkhem Mandal, where social worker, Jiban Kharibam condemned the tragic atrocities unleashed on BJP workers by Trinamool Congress workers after AITC won majority seats in West Bengal election.
He also appealed to the concerned authority to take all necessary action against those involved in the tragic incident and award befitting punishment.
Similar protests were staged at Damjol Waiting Shed by BJP 41-Chandel Mandal; at Tengnoupal District Headquarters by BJP 42-Tengnoupal Mandal and at Kakching by BJP Kakching Mandal.
The protests were held following all COVID-19 protocols.
