Aspiring students will not benefit in entrance exams

PUNE: Students preparing for entrance tests relying on concessional reservation scores for admissions have been hit hard by the Supreme Court order. They said the passing marks was reduced by at least five per cent but with the cancellation, the calculations have changed.
For students, the Supreme Court decision implied that the confusion over admissions was over.
Sakshi Jadhav, who had applied under Maratha quota last year, said, “It was frustrating due to constant delays in the rounds. I had filled up the form under the reservation quota and despite having scored reasonably had to wait for the allotment.”
At the same time, some students had got through the initial admission round under the SEBC quota. Student Ashwini Rane, said, “I was allotted admission in the first round. The stay did not have any effect in retrospect. So I could continue with the college I was allotted.”
Aniket Sonawane, a medical college aspirant, said he will participate in the general category and have to score five per cent more to be eligible for the admissions.
