Heavy rush for RT-PCR testing at state testing centers

Hyderabad: After the government became aware of people about the effectiveness of RT-PCR testing, the government is faced with dealing with problems.

In the wake of a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the state, people come in large numbers to government testing centers. But each center has a limited number of test kits.

About 500 people apply for RT-PCR testing daily, but the authorities only deliver 100 or 200 kits to these centers.

The authorities acknowledge that when the RT-PCR test is not performed for those who come to the center, they roam freely with people and endanger their health.

When such patients with Corona virus return to their homes, they also infect other healthy members of their family.

The medical experts therefore advise the doctors to start treating such patients without waiting for their test result, which can take two to three days.

It is said that due to the intense rush to RT-PCR
test at the Government and private centers, there is excessive delay in publishing the test reports.

The medical expert considers the delay to be extremely dangerous. When a COVID-19 patient is deprived of treatment until the test report is submitted, such a person can easily infect others.

The doctors were advised to start treating patients with noticeable Corona symptoms.

The result of the rapid antigen test comes within 30 minutes. However, the doctors do not give credence to this test. Some doctors consider CT scan to be the best option to find out COVID-19 status.
