Bathinda, May 6

SAD (Amritsar) and United Akali Dal have announced holding a ‘panthic’ conference at Bargari on June 1 against the state government for allegedly failing to provide justice to families of victims in Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura firing incidents. The announcement was made by leaders of Sikh outfits during a press conference in Bathinda on Thursday.

Eiman Singh Mann, leader of SAD (A), said, “With the quashing of investigation by the High Court in the Kotkapura firing incident being carried out by the SIT led by IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh, justice has been denied to families of victims. Panthic organisations have gheraoed the HC and submitted memorandum to judges of district and sessions courts. We have decided to hold a conference in Bargari where Sikh organisations will converge to start an agitation against the state government.” — TNS
