Man arrested for sexually assaulting girl child in Pudukottai

TRICHY: A 42-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for sexually assaulting a two-year-old girl in Pudukottai district of Tamil Nadu.
The accused has been identified as B Nallathambi of Pudukottai town. The toddler's family stayed as tenants ata house owned by Nallathambi.
On Thursday, the toddler went missing from the house following which the family search for her. Nallathambi was in his house with the child and locked himself up.
The victim’s family members realised that the child was inside his house after hearing her cries.
According to an investigating officer, Nallathambi was a divorcee and lived alone in the house.
He took the child from the house without their knowledge and sexually assaulted her.
Based on complaints from the victim’s family, police booked Nallathambi under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act. He was also booked under Section 342 of IPC for wrongful confinement of the child.
He was remanded in judicial custody.
