As in, it is becoming a bit too inviting now. I feel that those that call the shots or make the rules, the alpha males, if not already, will be raising the stakes. For example, a poor fit man has no leg to stand on against those higher up. Now, a identity may be important, even in a gym. There is a gym where it costs $300 in NJ. That's what we are talking about. Quality over quantity. If there was a $100 gym in my area, I would gladly join.

Nah the United States still has a prevalent obesity problem. The more the merrier as far as getting fit is concerned. A strong society is exactly what the west needs right now
Everyone’s getting offended left and right over the tiniest crap and wants to cancel and tear down others. No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

People have been saying this for years.
Sure, more people are into fitness, but social media just means you focus more on other people with like interests from across the country so it seems like more people are into it, when really it's about the same about but you just have easier access to all of them.★cVc★ 11b NFS

Fear of it getting too big? Nah. I have a fear of it getting bigger but being led by idiots like Brad Castleberry, Vince from Vshreds and every other reatrd who thinks that because they look good it means that they know how to fitness

No, I don't. Here's the best case scenario for most people who try to take fitness seriously:
1. Join a gym
2. Make noob gains and go from ~25% bf to ~20% bf
3. They see noob gains, gain a bit of confidence, and start telling everyone how they've been going to the gym and already are seeing progress!
4. They start getting really into routines and tweaking their workout. If they can just find that ONE magical routine online, they'll definitely get shredded soon!
5. Struggle w/ phuckarounditis, continue to stagnate, start to get frustrated
6. Quit the gym/stagnate at gym-average forever
And this is for people who are dedicated enough to reach step 2, which doesn't always happen either. Fact is that to get a standout physique (not even talking shredded IG status, just "damn bro, do you workout" level), you need to make fitness a lifestyle, which most people don't want to do. They don't want to eat healthy 90% of the time, get enough protein/sleep, avoid tasty food/binge drinking, etc.
If just going to the gym were all you need, every New Year resolutioner would eventually get fit. You can be healthy just by going to the gym 3-4x a week, but getting legitimately fit would mean partying/drinking/eating junk food, etc. would all go down significantly. As long as short-term happiness trumps long-term happiness for most people, I'm not betting on the gym becoming too big in peoples' lives.

No. Social media is amplifying what remains a small minority of people. Go outside and 90% of the general public is skinny-fat, chubby, fat, or obese.
Even inside a gym it is a small minority of people that look like their really serious about making progress."They don't understand my point of view, don't care about how I see things.
I don't see things their way and that's all that matters.
They attack everything but my defense because they don't want to hear my point.
They are busy populating my world with their ghosts and blaming me for the many little deaths of their lives.".

Lol people are getting ripped in 3rd world countries, I guess money can give you an advantage if you take roids or hormones or something but phuck that. Been lifting seriously on and off about 9 years from 16 to 25. Lifted lightly starting around 11-12 as it can stunt development. My brother was into it and we lifted for football.
I don't give a damn about social media fitness people either, they aren't "leading" me or anything like that. You can also get fit and build muscle without a gym or even weights if you want. No one is "calling the shots" or making the rules for me but myself. Discussing weightlifting with people on this site is helpful, but no one is telling me what I can and can't do.
Only 27% of people lift weights in America, but no doubt the population grows and more people work out. A rich man is not better than a poor man at getting fit and building muscle, it's usually the opposite. People who work physical labor are often in better shape. Money doesn't make you some sort of alpha male either, you can just be born into that chit.Beans, cleans, gasoline

What am I coping with? Not balding early, developing breasts, getting my nuts shrank, or having weird mood swings? I ain't gotta cope with chit because I don't need to do drugs to get strong. People have been getting ripped long before people juiced.
You don't need to be ripped to get laid, I think some chicks are into it though. My girl likes my arms and chit. The thing you said about mothers and suicide though is really phucked up. Man if you've been through that kind of chit I am sorry, it actually happened to one of my good friends growing up. I hope that your suffering subsides and that you heal from whatever chit you've been through and find peace dead srs.Beans, cleans, gasoline
