The premiere of Coldplay's new video was out of this world! Literally.

The group debuted their song Higher Power in the coolest way possible, getting it played aboard the International Space Station (ISS) by French ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who is currently serving as mission commander.

Before playing the Higher Power, Coldplay sat down for a short chat with Thomas, asking him about his stay on the ISS, what spacewalks are really like, and even getting a view of earth from his window.

Check out that conversation here:

The group then got Thomas to play the song for the very first time.

The video for Higher Power features holographic dancing aliens. When Thomas asked the band what inspired the alien/space theme, lead singer Chris Martin responded: "I think that we are, right now, able to imagine alien worlds as a way of saying what we think about life on earth. It's safer to say it about aliens than it is to say it about humans."

He continued: "The song is about trying to find the astronaut in all of us. The person who can do amazing things."
