Per the term Satori; which hails from Zen Buddhism - Connor has achieved a sort of sudden spiritual awakening, to which he may be trying to reach nirvana. Reaching nirvana can only be attained by understanding the 4 noble truths. Though this tends to pertain directly to Buddhism, Jesus Christ lived very similarly and taught very similarly to these practices. If Connor's cause of suffering happens to be money (which it is for all of us) getting rid of it may be his path to understanding all 4 noble truths, thus ending his worldy suffering and attaining a form of nirvana. If money is your suffering then I say let it go
