Telangana sees 6,000 new Covid cases & 52 deaths

HYDERABAD: Even as Telangana recorded 6,026 new cases of Covid-19 and 52 deaths, the positivity rate slid further on Thursday to 7.5% in comparison to 10% on Monday. The number of active cases in the state currently stand at 77,127. Telangana has so far recorded 4,75,748 cases and 2,579 deaths. On Thursday, 6,551 patients were declared recovered, taking the total recovery count in the state to 3,96,042.
The case fatality rate (CFR) meanwhile increased to 0.54% while recovery rate stood at 83.2%. A total of 79,824 samples were tested. Telangana has now completed testing 1.33 crore samples and has reached 3.58 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas recorded 1,115 new cases on Thursday, while neighbouring Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded 418, Ranga Reddy 403 and Sanga Reddy 235. Some 21 of 33 districts recorded over 100 new cases on Thursday. Among the districts other than the ones covering Hyderabad and outskirts, Warangal Urban, Mahabubnagar, Khammam, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Siddipet and Nagarkurnool recorded a high number of cases.
