Jaipur: The Rajasthan State Road Development & Construction Corporation Limited (RSRDC) in collaboration with Hindustan Zinc is in the process of converting a school in Rajsamand’s Dariba into a 250-bed Covid hospital. The total cost of converting the school into a 250-bed hospital will be Rs 2.6 crore, said PWD principal secretary and RSRDC chairman Rajesh Yadav.
“A school near Hindustan Zinc’s factory in Dariba (Rajsamand) will be converted into a 250-bed hospital. It has been just a week since the decision has been taken and we will complete the work in another 5-6 days. We will take oxygen from Hindustan Zinc and use it for the hospital,” said Yadav.
“We are working on a war footing to complete the work in 10-15 days,” he added. According to the state government’s portal on Covid info, there are currently 393 Covid hospitals in the state with 10,990 general beds, 16,834 oxygen beds, 2713 ICU beds without ventilator and 2181 ICU beds with ventilators.

Penalty on medical store for sale of oximeters at higher rates
Jaipur: The legal metrology team on Thursday imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Tiles Medical Store in Barmer district for selling pulse oximeters at a price higher than MRP. On Thursday, the team, while conducting 39 inspections in the state, registered cases against nine shopkeepers and imposed penalties of Rs 37,500 for profiteering, black marketing and selling of essential commodities at a price higher than MRP.
