“A complete lockdown will be imposed from 10th May to 24th May”, says Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa

Keeping in view the rising Covid cases in Karnataka, CM Yediyurappa, on Friday, has declared a complete lockdown in the state.

Amid the escalating number of Covid-19 cases in the state, Karnataka has imposed a complete lockdown in the entire state.

“As Covid-19 cases are surging in the state, Corona curfew was not successful. So, a complete lockdown will be imposed from  10th May 6 am to 24th May 6 am. All hotels, pubs, and bars will remain closed. Eateries, meat shops, and vegetable shops can operate from 6-10 am”, says CM Yediyurappa while addressing a press conference on Friday.

 

CM Yediyurappa specifies that the decision of imposing a lockdown in the state is temporary and hence the migrant workers need not panic & leave the state.

“It’s a temporary decision of lockdown. I request migrant workers not to leave”, says CM Yediyurappa.

CM BS Yediyurappa further says, “Not even a single person will be allowed after 10 am in the lockdown, I’ve suggested police officers take stringent action. We have decided this after looking at the death toll and increasing number of cases”, as quoted by ANI.

Although, the state reported 49,058 cases in the last 24 hours. While the total number of cases stands at 17.9 lakh.
