BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sanctioned financial assistance to different districts from the chief minister’s relief fund (CMRF) to strengthen the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. According to an official communication, Naveen sanctioned Rs 2 crore for Puri, Rs 1 crore for Sonepur and Rs 4.62 crore for Sambalpur. The amount can be spent by the district administrations to procure equipment, setting up of dedicated covid care centres, managing temporary medical camps and in other strategies to contain the spread of pandemic. A statement issued by the chief minister’s office said Puri had previously received Rs 14.59 crore from the CMRF while Sonepur had earlier received Rs 2.5 crore.
