FICCI President Uday Shankar backs indemnity for global vaccine makers

The government should consider requests of global drugmakers Pfizer and Moderna for indemnity protection to bring their Covid-19 vaccines into the country as mass vaccination is key in the fight against the pandemic, Ficci president Uday Shankar said. While a nationwide lockdown may not be the “silver bullet” India needs right now, a strict, “sensible and data-based” enforcement of lockdowns already in place in several states and mass
