No lock in Telangana: KCR

Hyderabad: Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who categorically ruled out the closure in Telangana, intensified efforts on Thursday to spread the word. coronavirus in the State. He spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought the immediate increase in the allocation of oxygen, Remdesivir and vaccines to the state in the wake of Covid-19 incidents.

Chandrashekhar Rao informed the Prime Minister that the state is not getting oxygen from Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu and Bellary in Karnataka. He also pointed out that Hyderabad as a medical center is setting up many people from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh for treatment in the city which extra burdens the medical infrastructure in Hyderabad.

The prime minister said 50 percent of the patients in the city came from other countries, and this had a detrimental effect on the availability of oxygen, vaccines and Remdesivir injections.
Under these circumstances, the Prime Minister tried to increase the supply of oxygen to 500 tons compared to the current daily stock of 440 tons, while Remdesivir injections should also be increased to 25,000 per day at the daily administration of only 4,900 vials. He also pointed out that there is a requirement of 2 to 2.5 lakh vaccines for Telangana and requested Modi to ensure the necessary numbers immediately.

In response to the Prime Minister’s request and following the Prime Minister’s instruction, the Minister of the Union, Piyush Goyal, spoke to the Prime Minister and assured him that the necessary steps would be taken to provide oxygen, medicine and vaccines. Goyal also ensured that oxygen would be supplied from the northern states instead of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The prime minister, who returned to Pragathi Bhavan after recovering Covid-19, held a high-level review meeting to take stock of the situation. He said that lock-in would not be introduced in the state because it would paralyze normal life and paralyze the state’s finances.
According to him, the decision was made after taking into account experiences, as well as the fact that cases would not amount to locked countries.

Chandrashekhar Rao discussed in detail the existing supply of oxygen and Remdesivir injections and the availability of oxygen beds and vaccines. He spoke to the manufacturers of Remdesivir and asked them to increase its availability.

There are currently 9,500 beds with oxygen and this will be increased by another 5,000 beds within a week. He asked General Secretary Somesh Kumar to import 12 cryogenic tankers, each costing R 1 million, from China and instructed him to complete the process immediately.
He said as many as 5,980 Covid outpatient centers were established at Primary Health Centers and Community and Health Hospitals in the State and asked people to use services at these centers.

Chandrashekhar Rao pointed out that 1.56 lakh-positive cases have been reported in government and private hospitals in the state, and 85 per cent (1.30 lakh) have recovered from this. He instructed officials to hold a media conference every day to disclose the information regarding total positive cases, the number of people recovered, and those in isolation, along with the number of people being treated in the public domain . He instructed the director of health to take responsibility in this regard.

A special officer must be appointed to take the measures to control Covid, Chandrashekhar Rao said and instructed General Secretary (Finance) K Ramakrishna Rao to release the necessary funds.

The Prime Minister said that the vaccine administration should give preference to those who have already had the first sting within the prescribed time. He also spoke telephonically with the director of the IICT, S Chandrasekhar, and discussed the measures to take up oxygen.
On the advice of the IICT director, Rao instructed health department officials to procure 500 oxygen enrichers.

The municipal and Panchayat Raj officials must take the necessary steps to spray sodium hypochlorite to ensure hygienic conditions in villages. Elected representatives must be involved in this initiative. He advised people not to panic, and suggested that they gather Covid kits from accredited social health activists (ASHA) and assistant midwives (ANMs).
