Hoshiarpur, May 6 (UNI) Five members of a family, including a woman and three children, died on the spot when their motorbike collided head-on with a speeding car near village Jaitpur on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Kumar (27) of village Choran Nangal, his wife Kamaldeep Kaur and three children Ishika, Ananya and Mishu.

All the car occupants, identified as driver Rupinder Singh of village Badhula, his sister Inderjit Kaur and an unidentified girl, were also injured in the mishap and were admitted in local District Hospital.

Chabbewal police station SHO Inspector Pardeep Kumar said that the bodies had been sent to District Hospital, Hoshiarpur for post-mortem.

He said that eyewitnesses told that while overtaking a vehicle motorbike driver failed in noticing the speedy car coming from opposite direction due to which his bike collided head-on with the car.

However, police is investigating the case thoroughly.
