Four-member committee investigating Eatala’s infringement

Hyderabad: The four-member committee of IAS officials has launched an investigation into the invasion of endowed countries by former Minister Eatala Rajender and his followers in Devarayamjal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The committee continued its investigation for the fourth consecutive day at the Sri Sitaramaswamy temple in Devarayamjal.

The panel led by Panchayat Raj Commissioner M Raghunandan Rao examined the government orders issued by the state government in the former Andhra Pradesh. Based on the survey conducted on illegal structures and violations in the donation sites, the committee examined the donations and revenue records. The survey was conducted by eight district officials.

It is believed that the committee members obtained information through the survey about the illegal structures and the exceeding of grant grounds, as well as the numbers for the survey. The inspection of 1,525 hectares of temple land in survey number 91, excluding the land given to the Indian Air Force, has been completed.

“After we complete the detailed investigation, the total extent of the land that was raided along with the illegal structures would be known,” an official said. It is understood that benamis was behind these incidents in Devarayamjal. “We will also try to find out the persons who were behind the benamis,” he said. The committee has already found that up to 160 structures have sprung up in the temple lands without the permission of the officials involved.

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Devarayamjal said that the lands that were invaded belong to the Sitaramaswamy temple. The temple was built during the Kakatiya dynasty and the land was allotted to the temple by Raamidi Pullaiah, who worked with the nawab during the reign of Nizam in 1925. Since then, the land has been in the name of the Sitaramaswamy temple. The villagers said they were surprised to know how it was changed, adding that the godowns were only built in its place by Rajender’s name. The other members of the committee were Prashant Jeevan Patil, Swetha Mohanty and Bharati Holikeri.

Eatala forcibly takes over Dalits’ lands, says BJP leader

Telothana BJP leader Mothkupalli Narasimhulu on Thursday launched a scathing attack on former health minister Eatala Rajender for forcibly taking over the lands of Dalits. “It’s not the issue of Rajender’s self – esteem, but the betrayal of soul,” he said as he spoke to a general news channel here. “It is a disgrace for Rajender to say that he is fighting for self-respect after invading Dalits’ lands in thousands of rupees,” said Narasimhulu, who recently recovered from Covid-19, said.

He said no one knows that it was Rajender who was allegedly behind the whole episode. It was very reprehensible of Rajender, who says he was poor and belonged to the Backward Classes (BC) community, to enter Dalits countries. He tried to know if Rajender had entered politics to occupy violent lands or render service to people. People would have supported Rajender if he had fought on behalf of Dalits and demanded that he return the lands to Dalits.

“A leader must always live for people and die for them,” he said, saying Rajender is not a protagonist. Rajender should thank Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for his entire life for making a BC leader as Minister.
