Amarinder mourns passing away of RLD chief Ajit Singh

Chandigarh, May 6 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday condoled the sad demise of former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Chief Chaudhary Ajit Singh (82), who passed away due to Covid-19 in a private hospital at Gurugram this morning.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Ajit Singh as a messiah of farmers, who always played a pro-active role in championing the cause of peasantry.

'His enormous contribution towards the farmers' welfare would be ever remembered by one and all', he said.

With the death of Ajit Singh, a void has been created in the arena of national politics, which is difficult to be filled, the Chief Minister added.

Expressing heartfelt sympathies with the members of bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give strength to bear irreparable loss in this hour of grief and eternal peace to the departed soul.
