Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the passing away of Philipose Mar Chrysostom remembering the head of the Marthoma Church as great human being who spent his life for the good and reformation of the society. “He made a place in the minds of people, irrespective of caste or religious divisions. Through his deeds, Mar Chrysostom taught the importance of helping the down trodden,” he said. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan expressed profound grief over the death of Mar Chrysostom. “Thirumeni conveyed spiritual wisdom with a touch of humour, making people smile as well as think of contributing to human welfare. My heart-felt condolences,” he said. Ramesh Chennithala said Mar Chrysostom always shared the sorrow of people, cutting across caste and religion, and tried to do whatever little he could to alleviate their pain. “Humour and positivity that the Valiya metropolitan left behind would continue to inspire the future generations as well in the time of crisis,” he said. LDF convenor A Vijayaraghavan, CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, BJP state president K Surendran, Congress leader V M Sudheeran were also among those who condoled the death of Chrysostom.
