Get your facts right, Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: The frustration is clear and obvious. The president of Congress, A Revanth Reddy, who has long been ignored by his own party, has dropped the allegations against Telangana Publications Private Limited (TPPL), publishers of Namasthe Telangana and Telangana Today, which only raised more questions on Thursday has about his intentions as to disclose any violations on the part of the company.

It is surprising that Revanth Reddy, caught red-handed in the infamous ‘cash-for-vote’ scam in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, had the courage to point the finger at Telangana publications that went through all the legal proceedings and procedures. while acquiring lands to set up the printing press in Devaryamjal.

The Congress leader’s conversation with the media was more of a chattering outpouring of frustration, and none of the senior Congress leaders stood by his side in such a ‘great exposure’ as he claimed. Clearly, he’s not sure about his moves, and Revanth Reddy is shaky about the way he’s investigating. Starting with a claim for an investigation by a sitting judge, he moves on to an investigation by the House Committee before finally asking for a CBI investigation!

The allegations he raised are both unfounded, as they are ridiculous. The fact that he continued to record no. 437 in Devaryamjal as a land of endowment, clearly indicates that he did not do his homework. Is not Revanth Reddy aware of the fact that the then YS Rajasekhara Reddy government issued GOMs No 810 on 14 October 2004 notifying endowments in the town of Deverayamjal? The GO notified the donation sites with the old and new survey numbers and the extent of the land.

The then government also issued another notice listing the donation sites in Deverayamjal mandate banning the sale and registration of lands. And here comes the interesting and most important fact: Survey no. 437 is not mentioned in the list of recipient countries nor in the prohibited list of surveys.

So does this mean that the turncoat Revanth Reddy comfortably ignored this GO, or is he unwilling to accept a GO issued by the then Congress government, even though he is now a member of the party?

More importantly, TPPL began the whole process of land acquisition in 2011 when Congress was in power with Kiran Kumar Reddy as prime minister. The state movement was at its peak, which in turn led to the question of whether the Congress government at the time would have ignored any irregularities.

What is ridiculous is that Revanth Reddy, a well-known master in land trading, cannot visually see the extent of land owned by TPPL. No piece of imagination can make a piece of four acres look like 10 to 15 acres as claimed by the Congress leader.

Revanth Reddy also wept hoarsely over the officials committee appointed by the state government to investigate illegal land operations, especially donations, and not even get close to the TPPL printing press. Why would they give GOMs No 810? What, moreover, prevents him from approaching the committee with his so-called findings rather than making a hullabaloo about something that is naturally fictional?

The fact is that the TPPL management has complied with all rules and regulations regarding the purchase of lands, as well as obtaining the required permits.
