Italian luxury fashion house Valentino has collaborated with the American denim brand Levi’s to bring back the Levi’s Vintage 517 (1969) jeans. The collection of authentic vintage pairs has been created by upcycling the previously-worn versions in an effort to preserve the past. Only 517 pairs of these vintage jeans will be made available worldwide.

As a symbol of shared values and an evolving concept of contemporary romanticism, Levi’s and Valentino have also collaborated on the Levi’s Re-edition 517, a brand-new reissue that is an update on the classic. Made especially for the Maison, it re-signifies an archival design.

Unique on the runway, this bootcut fit ushers in a new attitude defined by individuality, the Italian brand said on its website.

The Maison’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli had already showcased his version of the bootcut jeans at the Valentino Collezione show in Milan last year.

A specialised co-branded back tag has also been designed for this collaboration. Each pair of jeans will get a special interior print of the logos and will then be packaged in a distinctive box to become an extremely personal piece.
