Vaccine makers lower after U.S. says it supports IP waivers

Vaccine makers Pfizer PFE, +0.05%, BioNTech BNTX, -3.45% and Moderna MRNA, -6.19% each traded lower by 3% to 5% in premarket trade on Thursday, following the announcement from U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai that the U.S. supports the waiver of intellectual-property protections on COVID-19 vaccines. Another maker of COVID-19 vaccines, AstraZeneca AZN, +1.36% AZN, +0.31%, was flat in London trade. Moderna also is scheduled to report earnings on Thursday.
