LIVE market updates: The Indian benchmark indices traded with gains in a thin range in Thursday's noon deals ahead of the weekly options expiry.
The S&P BSE Sensex hovered around 48,850 levels, up 170 points, and the Nifty50 index was testing the 14,700-mark. Bajaj Auto, ONGC, and Bajaj Finance gained 1 per cent, each, and were the top Sensex gainers.

Among other individual stocks, IDBI Bank zoomed 15 per cent after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs gave its in-principle approval for strategic disinvestment along with transfer of management control in the bank.
The Nifty sectoral indices traded mixed, with gains in Nifty Metal index, up 1.5 per cent, being offset by Nifty PSU Bank index, down 1.5 per cent.
