Telangana reports 6,026 fresh COVID-19 cases, 52 fatalities until Wednesday night

Hyderabad, May 6 (UNI) The surge in Coronavirus infection continues in Telangana with the state reported 6,026 new COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Wednesday to take the cumulative caseload to 4,75,748 so far.
With the death of 52 patients in the last 24 hours, the fatality toll in the state due to the pandemic has risen to 2,579 translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to a State Health Department bulletin here on Thursday.
As many as 6,551 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide to take the total number of recoveries thus far to 3,96,042 constituting a recovery rate of 83.24 per cent while the National recovery rate was 82 per cent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 77,127, the bulletin said.
A total of 79,824 swab samples were tested in the state between Tuesday and Wednesday to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 4,091 swab samples are awaited.
